A NEW BALANCE BETWEEN MAN AND NATURE

A BOW TO THE LANDSCAPE

Can a building clear the air?
A building can change common sense.

A micro-building like a cabin is the occasion to work with elemental concept and low price to determinate a new balance between man and nature.
A building could be the start for a new vision.
We think that the innovation has to start from the territory and has to work for the territory.

The project is a metaphoric action. The technology has to bow to the landscape. The man has to bow to nature. Adapted to the landscape, local materials, intimate setting and multiple point of view are the basic concept of the project.

ADAPTED TO THE LANDSCAPE
The project gently lays on the hillside.
A design choice apparently unusual, but guaranteed statically by the small size.
A design choice to explain a new vision.
The project represent the idea that we need a new balance between man and nature, between technology and landscape, between economy and territory.
Therefore the project is a reinterpretation of an existing theme, then it puts in relation with the landscape completely, even considering that the landscape is already marked by man.

LOCAL MATERIALS
From the tradition: wood shingles and wood technology.
From the place: fir needles as insulating material.
From the scientic development: passive constructions technologies, low energy consumption and materials with low ecological impact and low consumption of CO2.

MULTIPLE POINT OF VIEW
Closed in the intimacy, but open to the outside: the presence of different openings – on the entrance, on the backside, on the ceiling – allows multiple points of view with large perspective to the woods and to the sky.

INTIMATE SETTING
External mimesis and interior high-comfort.
Living spaces designed at the man size. A living space for 1 or 2 people organized on two levels, thinking of sharing moments and personal times.
Personal space or intimate setting.

MOREOVER

EASY TO BUILD
Technical assembly designed according to an embodiment in self-build. Easy to build and easy to disassemble.

EASY TO MAINTENANCE
Routine maintenance to be performed annually for a guarantee of durability of the materials over time, and we like to think that shingles will soon turn silver gray and resist for 30 years until they must be turned upside down to hold on additional 30.

LOW-COST
Local building techniques and local materials are used for the construction and the maintenance making it low-cost as well as self-built, and moreover the insulating material is totally free and a meter 0.

CO2 LOW-EMISSION
Traditional local materials, traditional construction techniques and new local materials ( fir needles as insulation) are the target for a building with low emissions of CO2.
This is an innovative result between scientic development and hyper-local conditions, for a new balance between man and nature.

A pilot project with strong symbolic and media impact for a new vision in balance with the landscape.
