Community Forests International is hosting a 3 day chainsaw safety and maintenance workshop at Whaelghinbran farm October 19th, 20th, 21st.

From maintenance and repairs, to felling and limbing techniques, this in-depth course will provide you with the knowledge and in-field experience required to safely work on your woodlot with a chainsaw. Participants will receive a provincially recognized certificate from the N.B. Forest Safety Association upon successful completion of this Course. Directly following this course will be a 3 day intensive short course with horse logger Peter de Graaf (see Low Impact Forestry Short Course).

By delving into forest ecology and management techniques, this hands-on workshop will equip you with the practical know-how needed to ecologically steward your woodlot.

Participants should bring a chainsaw in working order and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (see below).

PPE = Chainsaw pants, hardhat with ear and face protection, gloves, chainsaw boots and warm clothing. We do have a certain amount of chainsaws and protective equipment. Please contact us well ahead of the course date if you won’t be able to bring any of the above equipment.
