We did it!

140-acres for wildlife,
community, and climate.

People like you have raised over $14,000 — helping to conserve, restore, and protect a very special 140-acre forest for community and climate benefits!

This forest will grow a protected natural area to nearly 500 acres, providing habitat to a diversity of Wabanaki forest life. This important forest is also a natural climate solution — storing carbon and providing vital flood mitigation services for local communities within the Wolastoq watershed.

Whether you donated or shared the news — your support is what makes this possible. Stay tuned in the early new year for more information on this special forest!

About The Forest

Located within the traditional unceded territory of the Wolastoqey Nation, near the town of Cambridge-Narrows, this beautiful forest is made up of a diversity of native Wabanaki tree species, including some red spruce, eastern hemlock, and yellow birch. In the existing protected area, there are white pine and hemlock that are several hundred years old — a rarity in the region!
