# 5 Working Land Conservation

by Community Forests International on December 12, 2012

While planting trees is important, it’s even more important to manage our existing forests, oceans, and ecosystems with respect. To do this we need to make conservation a dynamic part of resource use, rather than completely separate from it. By sustainably and respectfully managing the abundance around us we preserve the function that essential natural systems and living creatures provide, while balancing our human needs. This is the essence of our approach to the forest, and is the foundation we have laid for our future education centre at Whaelghinbran Farm, New Brunswick, Canada.
