Annual General Meeting and Pancake Breakfast 2014!

by Ran Sommer on June 25, 2014

Community Forests International invites you to join us for our Annual General Meeting on Saturday, July 12.

Over the past few years we’ve been working with our partners in Pemba to plant trees, grow food, generate solar power and harvest rain. In the face of climate change, our partners have pioneered some truly amazing solutions to humanity's greatest challenge and in 2013 we shared our work with the world. Hundreds of our supporters worked with us to build a Rural Innovation Campus – a place for community leaders to gather and innovate the solutions our planet needs. In Canada we've learned from our Tanzanian coworkers and began building a Rural Innovation Campus of our own at CFI’s Whaelghinbran Farm. From workshops, solar energy grids, cabin competitions and rural innovation, CFI has been working hard to make the type of change we all believe in. We welcome new, inspiring ideas as well as support in continuing our shared mission.

As a part of our Land Restoration Initiative, we have recently purchased a 60-acre clearcut. We believe that with our help and continued careful care, we can restore the land to its prior glory. We will be exhibiting photography taken at the clearcut by Erika Sullivan, one of our tree planters who planted there. In support of this project, we will also have Native Tree Seedlings available for purchase.

The AGM will be held at 10 School Lane, Sackville, New Brunswick and will begin at 10AM. A community pancake breakfast in support of CFI will be served prior to the AGM, between 8 and 10AM, at a cost of $10 per person (or by donation). All friends of CFI are welcome to join us!
