Forest Trail Opening and Restoration Orchard Phase II Planting

Where: Whaelghinbran Farm

When: Saturday, October 3rd (rain date: October 4): 10am - 3pm

We will be celebrating fall with one last event at Whaelghinbran Farm.  A chance to come out, meet new people, lend a hand and learn about our new hiking trail and orchard. The more the merrier – bring your friends, a shovel, and good shoes.

10am – 12pm

Volunteers and staff will plant 30 shrubs: highbush cranberry, haskap, and currants. Lend a hand and learn how to properly plant trees and shrubs in the Restoration Orchard. This is the second planting in our orchard that includes many types of fruit trees, wildflowers, and herbs - using Permaculture techniques and earthworks.

12pm – 1pm

BBQ!– Eat, socialize and be merry! Bring something to put on the BBQ and we will provide drinks, snacks and condiments.

1pm – 3pm

New trails! Explore the beautiful and diverse Acadian Forest at Whaelghinbran on our new 7 km of hiking trails.

Dale Prest will lead a 2 hour forest walk - touching on our forest management practices and unique forest features along the way. Kickstart fall with an invigorating hike in the beautiful Whaelghinbran valley!
