Not a goodbye, definitely a see you later!

What an incredible two and a half months to look back on. I have had the privilege of learning new things, meeting exceptional people, and being exposed to that one-of-a-kind rural lifestyle.

I didn’t know what to expect from CFI before landing at its headquarters, but whatever ambiguous expectations I had flew right out the window as I was exposed to the culture and machine we call Community Forests International.

For the last two and a half months I have been surrounded by the heroes of our future. People who have dedicated their lives to making this planet a better place. I have been inspired by this exceptionally talented group of people to adapt my own lifestyle and mindset.

“CFI envisions a world where people appreciate and recognize

their responsibility to be stewards of the forests”

This segment of CFI’s vision statement resonates deeply with me. I can now recognize the individual responsibility I have in this world to have a higher awareness of the environment I am in.

After working with CFI, I have a newfound appreciation and inspiration of our planet. We live in an incredible time where possibilities are infinite. I am so proud to have been a part of an organization that focuses on the possibilities instead of the more obvious boundaries.

I see a bright future for CFI. I know that it has the ability, motivation, and people that will be able to bring it to where it can be. The world needs CFI to be an example for other organizations to look to as its model.

One cannot join CFI and simply leave. I’ll be back, because my story with CFI and its exceptional team has just begun. CFI is now a part of me; I will hold onto the lessons I have learned here for the rest of my life, and I hope to be able to impart what I have learned in some capacity to the people around me.

CFI and Sackville, it’s been a pleasure. Thank you for impacting my life in so many ways. I can see myself coming back very soon. This is not a goodbye, it’s definitely a see you later!
