Our Climate Statement

by Community Forests International on November 27, 2015

In the lead-up to #COP21 we will be sharing insights from communities in Pemba and New Brunswick, from people who confront climate change on a daily basis and prove how this great challenge can be turned to great positive change. To start off, we have written a climate statement to share with decision makers and all of you on the #RoadtoParis

At Community Forests International, we have no choice but to see climate change as an opportunity. This is our chance to reimagine how we grow food, generate energy, care for one another, and care for the earth. It is our collective moment to not just build resilience for an uncertain future, but to build a better future. Harnessing the opportunity of climate change demands coordinated action among all levels of global society. In one week's time, world leaders will convene in Paris to agree on a binding global agreement to tackle climate change – something that affects us all. Community Forests International joins millions of people around the world, many of whom do not have a voice at the negotiations, in calling for ambitious and equitable commitments from our leaders.
