Volunteer Opportunities at CFI!

by Community Forests International on September 21, 2015

Come hang out with us at Whaelghinbran Farm! If you're interested in seeing the farm and lending a hand - please do drop by! Join in the fun and stay for as long or as little as you would like. Contact us at info@forestsinternational.org to let us know you're coming, or give us a call at 506 536-3738.

Friday September 25th

What: Silt fence construction: we will be upgrading the silt fence protecting the brook that runs through Whaelghinbran Valley. In 2013 we built silt traps (fences) to prevent silt from running off an adjacent clear-cut into our babbling brook. They are now full - so we will be building new ones. Come and help out! Bring something to eat and drink.

When: 10am start

Friday October 2nd

What: Forest garden planting: in preparation for the Restoration Trail opening, we will be planting native wildflowers and edible shrubs in Whaelghinbran Forest - highlighting the beauty and abundance of the Acadian Forest. Spend a morning with your hands in the soil while learning how to identify native forest species. Dress for the weather, and bring good shoes and a backpack of food and water.

When: 10am start

Saturday, October 3rd

Don't forget about our Farm and Forest Day - time to celebrate! Find directions to the farm here.

We hope to see you!
