Sign Me UpThis International Day of Forests, you’re invited to join a global movement of people and communities celebrating and bringing awareness to our shared ecosystems, environments, and climate.
On March 23rd, join us in celebrating and supporting the forests in the annual 5KM Challenge. There’s no better way to celebrate than by spending time in nature — all while raising funds to restore and protect vital forest ecosystems.
Community Forests International is hosting a special outdoor event where you will immerse yourself in nature through a guided walk and learn intriguing facts about the local forests and ecosystems. After the event, we’ll have some light snacks and refreshments, Community Forests’ stickers, and prizes!
Step 1 – Sign up by March 20th
Step 2 – Ask your friends and family to support your Challenge by making a donation of any amount.
Step 3 – Come out to Waterfowl Park at 11am, Saturday, March 23rd!
You can support community-led solutions that benefit both forest ecosystems and the people directly connected to them. Donate to your family member, friend, or roommate taking on the 5KM Challenge — knowing that your generosity will go directly towards restoring and protecting the special Wabanaki forest for generations to come.

Community Forests International is committed more than ever to centring not only forests but also climate justice in our vision, mission, and actions — understanding that by acting with justice people will be the restorative force that the world needs.
To celebrate International Day of Forests, we’re challenging you to run, walk, stroll, or cycle 5KM — all while raising funds to protect and restore forests.
Fundraising is more fun with friends! You are encouraged and welcome to sign up with a group and take the Challenge as a team!
All donations to the 5KM Challenge go directly towards our work to restore and protect the special Wabanaki forest across the Wabanakik-Maritime region. Your support helps Community Forests International to restore degraded forest through climate-smart forest management and securing additional forested lands for long-term protection.
We challenge you to raise at least $5 for each 1km!
However, there is no minimum to participate. No matter how much you raise or donate, your support is invaluable and goes a long way to restore and protect the special Wabanaki forest.
Not sure how to ask friends and family to pledge donations? We’re here to support you every step of the way. Sign up today and you’ll receive our fundraising package, plus email tips and updates up until the big day!
